How to deal with the problem of faucet leakage

In our daily life, sometimes we may find that the water still drips from the faucet even after the faucet is tightened, faucet leakage which not only causes a lot of waste, but also brings annoying noise. In fact, the structure of the faucet is very simple, so most of the maintenance of water leakage can actually be done by yourself.
However, before you start to repair it, remember to turn off the main faucet in the house.
Firstly, you need to figure out where is the leak. Below are some different leaking situations.

The faucet joint.

Regarding the repair of faucet leakage at the faucet joint, the cause of water leakage is nothing more than the damage to the water-stop tape of the faucet part. All you need to do is to use a plate cobalt to remove the faucet and re-roll a new waterstop at the place where the screw is fixed. Firstly, fasten the faucet first, then use a wrench to turn the faucet counterclockwise to remove it. Secondly, turn the threaded holes outward, and roll the threaded part clockwise with windmark tape for 5-6 times. Check to see if the faucet is properly adjusted and fastened with a wrench in the clockwise direction. After the final installation is complete, turn on the main switch and try to see if there is still water leakage.

That’s due to wear on the shaft gasket inside the faucet leads faucet leakage. Use pliers to loosen and remove the gland bolt, take out the shaft washer with a clip, and replace it with a new shaft washer.

That’s because the triangular gasket in the gland is worn! You can unscrew the screw to remove the bolt head, then loosen the gland and remove, and then seal the inner triangle of the gland. Take the pad out and replace it with a new one.

The pipe joint.

Basically, maybe the cap nut is loose. At this time, you can re-tighten the cap nut or replace it with a new U-shaped gasket. If the water volume of the faucet is found to decrease, it may be a water leakage situation, because the water-stop disk of the single-gun faucet is stuck with the sand and gravel, this phenomenon should be dismantled by a professional repairer. If the rubber pad is damaged, it need to be replaced. In general, the correct use of the faucet means that the faucet should not be rotated too tightly, so that the faucet rubber pad can maintain good for 7 to 8 year. However, the faucet of the hot water part is easy to reduce its life due to the shrinkage of the heat account, so I recommends that the rubber pads on both sides of the hot and cold sides should be replaced regularly at the same time.
